United Hands Of Hope Health Initiative -«UHOH care»
( Bridging Healthcare Gaps Through Innovation & National/International Solidarity )
Millions of people across Africa continue to face significant barriers to quality healthcare, particularly in maternal and child health, cancer care, and chronic disease management. At the same time, valuable medical equipment is often retired in developed countries while health facilities in low-resource settings struggle with shortages. UHOHCARE seeks to bridge this gap through innovative partnerships and resource mobilization.
United Hands of Hope Health Initiative (UHOHCARE) is a healthcare program of United Hands of Hope (UHOH) dedicated to improving access to quality healthcare for underserved and vulnerable populations across Africa. Guided by the principles of health equity, integrity, empathy, professionalism, innovation, and social responsibility, UHOHCARE works to ensure that no mother, child, or patient is denied essential healthcare because of financial or geographical barriers.
Key Areas Of Focus
1. Maternal and Child Health
Strengthening healthcare facilities and mobilizing resources to improve maternal and newborn survival and health outcomes.
2. Cancer Treatment
Supporting early diagnosis and treatment programs to ensure timely access to quality cancer care.
3. Dialysis Services
Promoting affordable dialysis services and reducing the financial burden on families affected by chronic kidney disease.
Key Mechanism Of Intervention
→ The UHOH Health Voucher Initiative
UHOH mobilizes donated medical equipment and supplies from partners worldwide and allocates them to selected health facilities in underserved communities. In collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the value of these donations is converted into Health Vouchers, which are distributed to vulnerable populations, enabling them to access healthcare services free of charge or at highly subsidized rates.
The initiative ensures:
- Effective utilization of donated equipment.
- Improved sustainability of health facilities.
- Increased access to healthcare for disadvantaged populations.
- Transparent and measurable impact for donors.
In addition, UHOH works with partners to mobilize financial resources for the direct purchase of health vouchers for vulnerable patients.
→ Uhoh Actions On The Ground
UHOH is currently preparing shipments of medical equipment and supplies for health facilities in the Central African Republic. In Cameroon, UHOH is supporting the development of a 60-bed Centre of Excellence in Yaoundé that will provide quality healthcare services while serving as a practical training hub for healthcare professionals.
By combining infrastructure development, capacity building, and expanded healthcare access through vouchers, UHOH is creating a more sustainable model for strengthening health systems.
